Girls' Wrestling
Girls' Wrestling – Movement, Strength, and Self-Confidence
In girls' wrestling training, girls learn the basics of wrestling among themselves in a playful way. This includes techniques such as proper falling, holds, and simple throws – always taught in an age-appropriate and safe manner.
In addition to strength and coordination, we primarily promote fairness, respect, and team spirit. Beginners and advanced participants are equally welcome and receive individual support.
The focus is on the joy of movement – and incidentally, the girls strengthen their self-confidence and physical strength.

Frequently Asked Questions
When and where does the training take place?
Training takes place at the Turnhaus Letten, Imfeldstrasse 90, 8037 Zurich – always from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
There will be no training during school holidays or on official public holidays in the city of Zurich.
Who's leading the training?
Girls' training is led by experienced wrestler Eveline Lötscher and supported by an assistant coach. RRZ attaches great importance to the training being led by a female head coach. However, it can happen that training is also led or accompanied by male coaches.
Does my daughter need prior experience?
No – you can start at any time without prior knowledge. We meet each child where they are and gradually introduce them to the basics of wrestling. Even shy children quickly find their place with us.
What age is the training suitable for?
Our Girls Wrestling program is currently aimed at girls aged approximately 5 to 10 years.
For children younger than 5 or older than 10, we kindly ask you to contact us beforehand so that we can find a suitable solution together.
Is the training dangerous?
Wrestling is a contact sport, but we teach it in a controlled and technically sound manner. As with other sports such as football or floorball, classic sports injuries can occur, but the risk is comparable. Safety and respectful interaction are clearly our top priorities.
What are the benefits of wrestling for my daughter?
Wrestling playfully promotes strength, coordination, and body awareness. Many exercises also have an acrobatic character – e.g., rolls (somersaults), simple balance exercises, or initial elements like handstands or cartwheels. At the same time, the training strengthens self-confidence and interaction with others.
Can my daughter do a trial training session?
Yes, I'd be happy to. Please register your daughter for a trial training session in advance so that we can prepare everything optimally.
